Lone Star College - Kingwood is part of the Lone Star College System. Lone Star College System faculty, staff and currently enrolled students may come to library and obtain a photo ID from any Lone Star College Library or apply for a library card online. High school students and adults living within the Lone Star College System may request a community library card. Lone Star College libraries accept library cards from Montgomery County Memorial Library and Harris County Public Library.
Reserve materials, either electronic or hard copy, are located at the circulation desk. Faculty may request items to be placed on reserve through Lori Odell, Circulation Assistant. Reserve forms for Library Owned Materials or Personal or Departmental Materials are available at the Circulation Desk.
BORROWING PRIVILEGES FROM OTHER LIBRARIES
The Lone Star College System photo ID or library card is accepted at any college library within the Lone Star College System and at public libraries in Montgomery County and Harris County. Search the library catalog for books, videos and other circulating materials from all three library systems. Items can be picked up at and returned to any Lone Star College, Montgomery County or Harris County library location.
Lone Star College System faculty, staff and students may request articles not found in the databases or at their local college library from another Lone Star College System library. Search the A-Z journal list or the library catalog using the magazine or journal title and check the holdings information for availability before completing an intra-library request form.
Through TexShare, Lone Star College faculty, staff, and credit students may obtain a library card and borrowing privileges at academic, public and other participating libraries throughout Texas. Ask at the Circulation desk for information (281-312-1691). The Library of Texas catalog includes holdings of participating libraries. Items must be picked up and returned to the participating library.
Lone Star College System faculty, staff and students may request books and articles from magazines or journals not located in the library catalog or databases by completing an interlibrary loan request . Call the Lone Star College - Kingwood Reference Desk at 281-312-1693, email or chat with a reference librarian for more information.
Community members may use their Harris County Public Library or Montgomery County Memorial Library cards at any Lone Star College System library. To request books and articles not available from the library catalog or their public library databases, they should contact their local public library branch.
This site includes information about the library, access to library catalogs, research and assignment guides, and electronic databases. Most databases contain full-text articles. Use your library card or photo ID library barcode number to access these databases from off-campus.
Links are available to the Lone Star College System and each of the colleges in the system. Watch for announcements of college workshops on research and use of the library.
