Colorado Health Net This site is one of many that answer questions about Health Maintenance Organizations. Look for a reputable educational, government, or organizational site. FAQs would be helpful here.

5. What are some of the health policy issues being addressed by congress at this time? I'd like to see bill summaries and maybe the status. Who would I contact with questions?

THOMAS Thomas is the major government site. If you selected "Bills by Topic" you could choose health policy as a major topic and see a short summary of bills, sponsors and latest action.

6. I have a small infant and am very concerned about airbag safety. I'd like to know some guidelines which would make me feel more comfortable with this topic.

Injury Prevention - Airbag Safety There are several guidelines here about where in the car the baby should ride, what direction it should fact, etc.

7. I have my passport and visa ready and I'm off next week on a month long trip throughout Brazil. What are the medical facilities like there? I understand the US State Department Travel Warnings will help me.

US State Dept Travel Warnings Medical care in Brazil varies, particularly in remote areas. Bring CASH. Contact the Centers for Disease Control for more info.

8. I have heard about job openings listed on Internet. Someone told me the Medical / Health Care Jobs Page might list jobs in my Health Care field. What is one job that I might apply for and stay in Texas?

Use the link given. We found many health care listings but you may have to move.

9. My grandmother is concerned about Texas Medicaid Reform?  Will she be eligible for Medicaid services under the 1115 waiver?

10. Genetic testing is creating many questions for the insurance companies. Use the following bibliography on this topic, GENETIC TESTING to find two resources you may want to read.

How about:

"Aetna Official Presents Case for Genetic Testing to NAIC." National Underwriter. June 24, 1996, pg. 8.

"Genetic Testing Battle."  Best's Review. August 1996, pg. 39.

But there are many more recent resources for you to choose.

11. My wife is 4 months pregnant with our first child. In celebration, we plan to travel to the Middle East. Is this recommended? What precautions and dangers might she find?

International Travelers Clinic - Traveling While Pregnant Travel abroad for health pregnant women seems fine, with proper precautions and planning. Chloraquine is a malaria medication that can be safely taken during pregnancy when traveling in the Middle East.
